Join this workshop with our friends from Museo de las Americas to learn about "El Movimiento" — the vibrant Chicano movement sparked a wave of demands for equality among Denver’s Chicano youth. This movement also ignited an artistic renaissance that inspired social justice change through art.
In this workshop for teens, you’ll discover the power of your own voice and see how a movement in Denver shaped Chicano art and history. Then, channel your inspiration into action by creating a protest sign that reflects a social justice topic you care about.
Appropriate for ages 12 to 17. This program will be hosted in English. Space is limited; Registration required.
Participa en este taller con nuestros amigos del Museo de las Américas para aprender sobre "El Movimiento", el vibrante movimiento chicano que suscitó una oleada de exigencias de igualdad entre la juventud chicana de Denver. Este movimiento también provocó un renacimiento artístico que inspiró un cambio en la justicia social a través del arte.
En este taller para jóvenes, descubrirás el poder de tu voz y aprenderás como un movimiento en Denver dio forma a la historia y el arte chicano. Después, canaliza tu inspiración en acción creando un cartel de protesta que refleje un tema de injusticia social que te interese.
