This workshop invites families to get their hands messy and their imaginations moving as they explore real ceramic studio techniques together.
Participants will try coil, pinch-pot and slab-building methods, giving everyone the freedom to create something uniquely their own, while learning how clay really works. From glazing to the process of multiple firings, they’ll watch their pieces transform into finished artwork — topped off with an exciting live raku firing that brings a little magic (and a lot of fire) to the process.
Appropriate for ages 8 and up with at least one caregiver per family. The program will be hosted in English. Space is limited; registration required. Please register each individual that will attend and plan to attend each program in the series.

Este taller invita a las familias a que se ensucien las manos y pongan en movimiento su imaginación mientras exploramos juntos las técnicas de un estudio de cerámica real. Los participantes probarán las técnicas de rollitos, pellizco y placas, ofreciendo a cada persona la libertad de crear algo personal y único, mientras que aprenden cómo funciona la arcilla. Desde el proceso de esmaltado hasta las múltiples cocciones, van a ver la transformación de sus piezas a obras de arte terminadas, además de una emocionante cocción de raku en vivo que añade un poco de magia (y mucho fuego) al proceso.
Apropiado para edades de 8 años en adelante y con por lo menos un cuidador por familia. El programa se presentará en inglés. El espacio es limitado; se requiere inscripción. Inscribe a cada persona que asistirá y planea atender a cada sesión de la serie del programa.

The Studio at Anythink Wright Farms, a digital creation lab featuring state-of-the-art video, audio and design equipment and software, partners creative community members with teens to help push their creativity to new bounds. Adjacent to the building is a one-acre park made possible by the Wright Farms Metro District that includes outdoor seating, reading nooks and Explore Outdoors, a certified Nature Explore children’s outdoor classroom. Continuing its dedication to sustainability, Anythink Wright Farms is a Gold LEED certified building with many sustainable features, including use of recycled materials, daylight harvesting and ground source heating and cooling.
