Explore the meaning and artistry behind patterns in this two‑part online workshop, Motifs & Patterns: Fundamentals of Design, on August 11 and 18.

Participants will learn how cultural histories, symbols and storytelling traditions shape the motifs found in textiles, clothing and other art forms across the world. Through guided discussion and creative practice, students will be able to examine how patterns express identity and community, then create their own designs using either digital tools or traditional materials.
