Help the Nature Library repurpose the brown packing paper our books arrived in!
Craft your own alebrije — a brightly colored Mexican folk art sculpture of a fantastical, imaginary creature. In this two-week workshop we will learn about this artistic tradition and practice eco-friendly sculpting in week one. Participants will leave with their own colorful creation in week two!
Appropriate for teens. This workshop will be hosted in English.

Ayuda a la Biblioteca de la Biblioteca de la Naturaleza a reutilizar el papel marrón de empacar ¡en el que llegaron nuestros libros! Crea tu propio alebrije: una escultura de arte popular mexicano, de colores brillantes, que representa una criatura fantástica e imaginaria. En este taller de dos semanas aprenderemos sobre esta tradición artística y practicaremos técnicas de escultura ecológicas durante la primera semana. Al final de la segunda semana, los participantes se llevarán a casa ¡su propia creación colorida!
Apropiado para adolescentes. Este taller se presentará en inglés.

The Anythink Nature Library is a place where curiosity and care for the natural world take root. Grounded in the Environmental Kinship Model and shaped with insight from Indigenous and Native American leaders on the Anythink Nature Library Advisory Council, this experience-driven space invites visitors of all ages to explore their connection to nature through welcoming environments, hands-on TryIts, and guidance from knowledgeable experts — all within a community hub designed for learning, reflection, and discovery.
