Author Chat: "How to Survive a Shooting: A Columbine Memoir"
Tuesday, October 13
12:00pm - 1:00pm
Join author Krista Hanley, survivor of the 1999 high school massacre, for a poignant, powerful and hopeful book discussion on her new release.
Though she escaped the building unscathed, the days, months and years following the event were emotionally wrought as she attempted to function under the shadow of extreme trauma. Through continued national tragedies, college and career decisions, difficult relationships and untreated PTSD, Krista suppressed her suffering while she sought to regain a sense of normalcy.
Over a decade later, she finally faced her fears and learned that turning towards art, sharing her story and empowering herself could bring resilience, recovery and maybe even hope.
This event will be held in partnership with and will take place at the Northglenn Senior Center. Adults of any age and who are residents of any city are welcome to join. Participants may pick up a copy of the book beginning on Sept. 14 at Northglenn Senior Center or at Anythink’s Huron Branch while supplies last.
Registration is required. Appropriate for adults. Event will be presented in English.
**Author Krista Hanley will be joining us at the Northglenn Senior Center for this event.**
