Huron Street Conference RoomIn these workshops, participants will explore themes of empowerment, self-confidence, and finding your voice.
In these workshops, participants will explore themes of empowerment, self-confidence, and finding your voice. Through writing, readings, and reflection, we will practice expression through memoir, fiction, or hybrid genres. For adults and youth, these sessions are trauma-aware and inclusive. The writing exercises will allow participants to explore their personal histories, feelings, and relationships to the themes in a safe and supportive space. Any sharing is completely optional and voluntary. Attend one or all three sessions.
This course is led by Krista Hanley of We Are Safer Together, a trauma survivor, self-defense instructor, and writer who facilitates safe, emotionally supportive, and encouraging environments. Krista’s writing has been published in several outlets, including the LA Times and Huffington Post, and her memoir about surviving the Columbine High School shooting is forthcoming in September 2026.
Appropriate for adults. This program will be facilitated in English. Registration required. Please see event listings on the calendar to register.
