Crouch, a Smithsonian veteran of almost 45 years, as he talks about his book, “Smithson’s Gamble: The Smithsonian Institution in American Life, 1836-1906,” as well as the trials, errors, and incredible legacy of the Smithsonian’s foundation. "Smithson's Gamble" is filled with fascinating characters, moments of triumph and tragedy, political machinations, a bit of backstabbing, accusations of murder, and the occasional scandal. The discussion will be followed by a brief Q&A.

About the branch
The fully renovated Anythink Perl Mack serves the North Denver community with a variety of spaces and programs for all ages. This sustainable facility includes a children’s pavilion, teen space, computer lab and program space. The landscaped site also includes a community garden, maintained by local community members in partnership with Denver Urban Gardens.
