Explore poetry and memoir as powerful tools for self-expression and identity exploration in this class led by Nancy Viera.
Through reading, discussion, and writing exercises, engage with themes of love, loss, memory, and personal identity. Using selected works, including "Silhouette" and "The Grief and The Happiness," examine the emotional and complex layers of the human experience.
Then, reflect on your own identities and use writing prompts to write from personal experiences and deepen your understanding of yourself and others. Writing prompts will encourage creative expression through poetic language and memoir-style storytelling.
Appropriate for ages 14 and older. This program will be presented in English and Spanish. Space is limited; registration required.
