This class is for the curious and the careful folks. Let’s take a deeper look into your sewing machine and how it operates. We will be removing pieces, cleaning, and oiling machines.
While this is a basic maintenance routine, consistency will prevent larger issues from developing inside your machine.
You may bring your own sewing machine to class if you want, but please note that we may not have all the tools required for it. Please bring your manual and any tools that came with your machine.
You’re invited to interweave yourself into the community through this expansive beginner’s sewing series. Your instructor, Jackie Drummond (they/she), will be guiding you through the basics of using a sewing machine and various stitching and sewing methods through all of February. You can come to each lesson or hop around into whatever class, skill or interest calls you! See the complete list of classes here.
No prior sewing experience is required to participate. All supplies will be provided.*
Appropriate for adults and teens 13 and older. Space is limited; registration required.

Esta clase es para la gente curiosa y meticulosa. Miraremos de cerca a tu máquina de coser y cómo funciona. Sacaremos partes de la máquina para limpiarlas y lubricarlas. Aunque haremos una rutina básica de mantenimiento, hacerlo consistentemente ayudará a prevenir problemas mayores al interior de tu máquina. No es necesario tener experiencia de costura para participar. Se suministrarán todos los materiales.
